The madness of the Christmas season has begun - my favourite time of year! 

I love creating Christmas decorations, and try to come up with new and original ideas each year, as well as continuing with some old favourites. In previous years these have included trees, stockings, puddings, robins, snowmen, and stars, but new for this year we have Reindeer, Robins (new design), and Snowmen (new design)

 And with the madness comes seasonal special offers ...

I spend a lot of time designing most of my pieces, and deliberately never make two the same (commissioned work occasionally requires this, but the design will still be unique to that project)I feel that individuality is important, and have unconciously developed a particular “Heidi” style, based largely on influences from my extensive travels abroad, and more recently by my children.

My present favourites are the Patchwork Panels - I have a lot of fun just creating and fiddling with fab results!

I have also recently started demonstrating stained glass techniques to local clubs and schools – I`ve even had children as young as 7 cutting glass! This appears to be going well, and is less terrifying now that I`ve done a few!

Glass by Heidi.

I discovered stained glass about 7 years ago after my mother sent me on a beginners course to get over the shock of having a baby. One week later I was hooked. Then someone gave me a great deal on a used kiln and the world of fusing opened up. The rest, as they say, is history.

I love working with glass – the colours, textures and reflectivity make it a wonderful organic material, and I design pieces for the joy in seeing them come to life, often in ways more beautiful than I had imagined. I am fascinated by the colours and textures which allow plenty of experimentation making each piece unique. My children also provide a wealth of inspiration and ideas.

Anyway, my friends started buying pieces from me, and said I should turn it into a business, so here I am. Plus my family were starting to drown in a glass sea!

I have completed a number of commissions including door panels, bespoke dishes and jewellery pieces. The largest of these was a pair of leaded stained glass windows for the Masonic Hall in Petersfield, Hampshire. I have also produced a set of 3, 95cm high, fused pieces for a dental practice waiting room. At present I am restoring some leaded lights from my parents house. Have a look at the Gallery section for some pictures of finished pieces.
New commissions are always welcome – estimates are free.

I am working on the photography side – glass is extremely difficult to photograph well, so I apologise for the quality of some pictures. I am still experimenting so please bear with me.
